As a subsidiary of Snigpins LLC, La Belle Epoque comes with a small starting budget to ensure we can hire the people that we need to provide skills and expertise in the areas we do not have. These areas include graphic design and cover art. All related zine finances will be handled in a separate bank account and posted in the discord server as expenses are incurred and preorders are to give moderators and content creators greater insight into how money is being spent, and what money flows in from purchases. All transactions will be publicly transparent at the end of the preorder period, so you understand how much money has come in, and how much we expect to donate to charity. (We are registered as an LLC in Washington State and file taxes as such, please do look us up and hold us accountable!)** Stress-Free Purchases **
Keeping in line with mainline polices from Snigpins LLC, every preorder has the stress-free purchase guarantee! There will most likely be a charitable contribution portion to this zine; we have not yet decided the specific charity but will work with a 501(c)(3) that has no ties to political ideology, hate speech, or self-promotion.== FAQ ** ==You guys seem to have a lot of merch experience but no zine experience, how can we trust that you will bring a high-quality zine to life?
We've gotten this one a few times actually! Our expertise translates fairly well to zines-- we have had to convert digital art to stringent pantones and had to translate 2d into 3d space; all while managing the complex relationships between artists and business, and balancing customer expectations with final product. We have hundreds of items in multiple lines, and have managed thousands of dollars of preorders + successful deliveries, so we are confident that we can deliver a high-quality unique experience. (Our merchandise prides itself on exquisite detailing and craftsmanship, which we hope to bring you here!)** How old do I have to be to participate in this zine? **
18. This is a hard limit, sorry. We want to make sure everyone is legally allowed to receive payment for their work.** How do I get paid? **
We send out payments via PayPal to track expenses and use built tools for budgeting. We can currently only offer compensation this way, so we are unable to work with anyone who does not have access to PayPal. Accommodations may be made if you have access to a payment processor such as izyico. We will split payment as such: half to charity following profits and the remaining half split across contributors.** I want to contribute, what are you looking for in a portfolio? **
For writers: three complete pieces between 1500-4500 words. At least one must be related to the Great Ace Attorney in some way.
For artists: three complete pieces of art, all expressive of the style that you want to bring to the zine.
For merch artists: three complete designs, all representative of the style you want to create merch in. At least one must be "optimized for merchandise." Because of the team's extensive expertise in creating merchandise, it's not necessary that you have prior experience in this field.
Each artist selected in the application period must put together a small pitch during the brainstorm period.** Will you have pinch hitters?**
Yes! We will select some pinch hitter contributors.** Will you have guest contributors? **
Yes! We've reached out to a few. Right now, we are in the regular contributor application period!** Is content limited to canon-compliant situations only? **
Not at all. AU situations are allowed. Because of this stipulation, we cannot guarantee that you will not experience spoilers; this zine will not be marked spoiler free! We want to make sure that the zine is safe for all, so we will not be allowing anything non-con, adult/minor relationships, and/or sensitive topics.** I really like [Ryuu/Kazuma/Susato/Mikotoba/Iris/Other] can I include them? **
Yes, absolutely! Any character from The Great Ace Attorney or Ace Attorney mainline is welcome to be in your submission to the zine, so long as the submission is focused on Vanlock/Homubaro/Barosharo! For example: a fic about Maya Fey and Barok van Zieks being friends is more than welcome in this zine!** The Interest Check had NSFW content, will this zine be safe for all ages? **
Yes. There will be a portion of the zine that will be available to all ages.** I already know I want to participate in the zine! **
